    Souq Waqif Eid festival
Enjoy the last few days of the Souq Waqif Eid Festival, a six-day long extravaganza that closes tomorrow, July 23.
Mini golf, air hockey, sumo wrestling, train rides, an F1 simulator game, and numerous other kid-friendly events will be held in an air-conditioned “Monopoly tent” at the Al-Ahmed Square from 4pm onwards.

The Souq Waqif art center is also hosting workshops on cartoon drawing, airbrushing, murals, and other art forms from 9:30am to 4:30pm daily. For a detailed schedule of events, visit the souq’s website here.

    Splash & Dash
Aspire’s fitness program continues this summer with just-for-fun sessions for men, women and children at the Aspire Dome’s swimming pool and air-conditioned athletics track.
Tonight, the session runs from 7 to 9pm, and from July 26 to Aug. 30, it will be held every Sunday and Tuesday from 8pm to 10pm. The mixed-gender sessions give residents a chance to stay healthy by getting some exercise.

Those who wish to enroll must pay a QR10 registration fee at the Aspire Dome main reception entrance, on Sundays and Wednesdays until July 27 from 5:30pm to 9pm. Participants can also register online until Aug. 29 here.

    Arts and crafts workshop
The recently opened FNAC store at Lagoona mall is hosting a series of creative workshops this summer. This week’s workshop will focus on wreath-making, during which children can make their own paper floral wreaths.
The free event is open to children ages four to 12 years old, and will be held from 3 to 4 pm at the FNAC store today, July 22. For more information, visit the event’s page here, or the group’s Facebook page here.

    Blood donation drive
Those who wish to wrap up their holidays with a little bit of goodwill may want to join the Filipino community of the Unified Triskelion of Qatar at the Hamad Blood Donation Unit on Friday, July 24, at 8am to make a donation.
The event is free and open to the public, but possible donors are requested to ensure that they are viable for donation.

    Elmo makes music
Tickets are still available to the watch the cast of Sesame Street perform live in Doha. Final performances for the musical will take place tonight, July 22, at 5 and 8pm at the Qatar National Convention Center.

Watch how Abby Cadabby, Elmo and friends attempt to start a new band and discover ‘instruments’ they never knew existed, including pots and spoons, trash can lids and cookie jars.

Tickets cost QR110, QR170, QR230 and QR350 and can be bought online here.

Children under the age of three years old enter for free, but are required to sit on their parents’ laps.

What are your plans this weekend?
