New office for issuing permits to enter HIA

To ease the temporary pass issuance to Hamad International Airport, the Airport Security Department has opened an office at Departure Terminal, in front of the counters for weighing baggage.
The new office will issue temporary permits for companies, institutions, authorities and ministries to enter the HIA.

“The new office will issue only temporary pass for one day while passes valid for one week, month or year can be obtained from main office of the Airport Security Department,” announced Lt Hamad Murad Abdullah, permits officer at Airport Security Department.

“Any individual who wants to enter inside the HIA for any official purpose, must bring a copy of the passport or ID card for citizens, a copy of residence or visit visa (for residents), personal photo, and fill in the provisional security permit application along with the letter from the authority for whom he work for, explaining the purpose of visit and the specific areas to enter. After security clearance, the permit will be issued.”

“The permit holders should ensure it does not fall in the hands of those not entitled to carry or use it, and not try to change the data recorded on the permit,” Lt Abdullah added.

All sounds great..i think this is for protection interms of aviation security measures and being constantly tightened the security of the airport and its passenger..
