The General Command of the Qatar Armed Forces has advised residents to “take precautions for their own safety” as the marine shooting range will be active from today, Sept. 10 to Sept. 17.

The range is located about 40km east of Mesaieed, near Fasht Al Hadid.

The shooting will take place each day from 6am to 5pm, according to QNA, which announces such practices a few times a year.

Most recently, in December, the armed forces warned that practices would be conducted with live ammunition.

Though that’s not mentioned this time around, QNA does state:

“The Qatari Armed Forces General Command warns those who frequent the area to take precautions for their own safety.”

The QAF has been in the news lately after authorities confirmed that Qatar was deploying troops to Yemen following the deaths of several Emirati, Saudi and Bahraini soldiers in the country.

Have you heard the shooting practice before? Thoughts?
