Mowasalat has increased the number of taxis and extended service times to boost public transport in the Holy Month of Ramadan, particularly during the peak periods.

Mowasalat Public Relations Manager Khalid Kafoud said,"Mowasalat has included in its plans to increase taxi services across various districts of the country, taking into consideration the difference in peak times and the increased traffic in the evening.

"The company has worked to maximise such services for malls, the Hamad International Airport and other locations, which usually see a large turnout in Ramadan. It has also amended the timings of public transport buses to suit the life style characterising the holy month. Operation hours of all public transport bus lines have been extended to 12:30am to meet the requirements of users and the change in work hours."

Some related updates have been made with effect from Thursday, June 18.

For Routes 300/ 301/ 302/ 303/ 304/ 57, the terminal has changed to the Asian Town (instead of KDS) and also routes 20 and 21 will be passing by the Asian Town.

As part of Mowasalat's attention to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) towards the community and to celebrate Ramadan, the company will give away Karwa public transport smartcards to the public free of charge at iftar (breakfast) gatherings to be organised in collaboration with Qatar Charity.

The company will also offer iftar boxes to public transport users free of charge every day before iftar time at Al Ghanim Bus Station throughout the holy month. Such initiatives come as part of Mowasalat's commitment to its role, which is based on the ongoing interaction with the public during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
