Do not use cotton buds, it can damage ear drums

I always thought that the best way to clean ear is cotton buds, which is easily available in market, shops, hyperstores, until one day I came to know from an ENT specialist that the more we use the cotton buds, it harms the ear drums by scratching. The more we penetrate cotton buds inside our ear, it leaves scratches and damages our ear drum which can lead to deafness. I had been using it until one day I got a tinkling sound in my ears and i had to see an ENT doctor who told me that due to using cotton buds and cleaning too much wax out of ear, it lead to Tinnitus, which is a tinkling sound in my ear. Doctor advised better not to clean too much as wax on the ear protects from outside dust and works as a moisturiser. Friends hope this information may help you save your hearing power. thanks.
