When deciding on the type of education best suited to your child(ren)’s needs, you should also ask yourself the following questions Are Qatar's educational system and examination qualifications recognised in your home country, the country in which your child will probably eventually have to make his way,When your child returns to your native country, will his education be ahead of or behind that of his peers,What is the academic record of the school you propose to select?

Firstly, patience is definitely a must. You are always learning about your child, just as they are learning about you, so patience is very important. Kids know if you are angry. Let them grow up relaxed, with no stress. They have enough time for stress later in life.

For me because I'm a Filipino national my first option for sending my child to school is to a Filipino school where the same educational program in my native country is implemented

Meenakshi, Dont worry about your nephew. Every child is different especially in speaking capacity. My child is also 22 months old and she started speaking only small small words. If you still concerned about his speaking ability , there is an option called "Speach Therapy"

My boy too is already 2 years and 6 months but he can only utter the last syllable of every sentence but it didn't bother me at all because I know that he's just fine and he's taking interest in learning couple of things like identifying different kind of animals, fruits, birds and he has the initiative to read single words. The doctor I recently asked for advice told me that we need to expose our children with other children so they can socialize and that's one of the steps they can start to talk.

We all expats coming from different countries, different cultures, would like to send our kids to schools who are teaching them similar curriculum which is followed in our country and also the values which count more, so that one day when they have to return they should not face problems. Our community schools are doing good and by cultural programs, events this is very well taken care of.

I would like to add, sending your kids to a school that teaches your home country's history, values and cultures is recommended. This is to avoid our children become strangers in our own country. But given that your kids are studying in international school is a high advantage.

It's always fun to play with kids but at this stage, don't baby-talk to them.
To free yourself from thinking about your kids situation don't be afraid bringing them to doctors.

There are kids who are late bloomer but they become top of their class. I don't know maybe at their young age they are observant enough how to outsmart other kids.
