One of the disadvantages in Hamada hospital is the delay in giving appointments. we have to wait few months to get an appointment with a doctor. Hopefully their system gets better soon :)

We know that it's the only govt hospital around Doha so most of the people flock to Hamad for any medical appointment and consultation. Hope the management will take a good consideration about this problem and take necessary actions to improve the system

As far as in know Hamad Hospital has new appointment system .The Outpatient department Hamad General Hospital is getting a new appointment system. This means that appointments with specialists doctors at the government-run facility will only be at fixed times, and only through a referral from either primary healthcare or the emergency department. Walk-ups will no longer be accepted. After a doctor make a referral, patients will have to schedule their appointments with the HMC Patient Contact Centre via phone. And if you miss your appointment, you’ll need to call them back and arrange a new one.

Getting an appointment is difficult, but you can easily consult a doctor there if its an emergency(like high fever, pain, etc etc). You can directly go to emergency department of Hamad Hospital.

Yes there are many private health care in Doha with good facilities and doctors but too expensive that's why many still preferred Hamad hospital to minimize the fees.

I always prefer Hamad hospital because it's cheaper but with same quality of treatment. Only that you have to be patient in a long queue. I suggest you go to Emergency Room so you will be assisted on the same day and will be scheduled for appointment for followup checkup. And yes, appointment system is too long...
