    Katara is expected to lure thousands of visitors this Eid Al Adha holidays to see stunning pyrotechnics and shadow play nightly.

    Katara has prepared an entertaining Eid programme for its visitors, a highlight of which is the shadow play which is a very popular form of entertainment for different ages in various cultures.

    There are more than 20 countries known to have shadow show troupes. It is an old tradition which has a long history in Southeast Asia especially in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia.

    It is considered an ancient art in other parts of Asia such as China, India and Nepal. It is also known in Turkey, Greece and France.

    The shadow play will be staged from 7pm to 7.30pm on the first day of Eid, from 8pm to 8.30pm on the second day and from 9pm to 9.30pm on the third day. Fireworks display will start at 9.30pm every night following the giving away of Eid gifts for children which will be held from 7pm to 8.30pm. The Peninsula
