No fines for traffic violations during Eid

The Traffic Department on Friday launched a massive awareness campaign for three days with an aim to improve road safety and minimize accidents, Al Sharq reported today.

Under the drive, motorists involved in any kinds of traffic rule violations during this period will be sent notices to make them aware about the same.

However, there will be no fine imposed against their respective traffic violations committed during the campaign period, Al Sharq reported.

The main idea of the programme is to make the motorists aware about the common traffic violations made by them so that they do not repeat such mistakes in future.

The traffic department also highlighted that the government is not interested in collecting money through fines but using it as an effective deterrent measure to ensure safety for all the road users. The Peninsula
