The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has urged employers to ensure they are not hiring people with fake education certificates.

The advice came in the context of an investigative report by New York Times about a company allegedly issuing fake university certificates to applicants worldwide, including the Gulf.

None of the universities mentioned in the report is included in SEC's accreditation list, the council said in a statement yesterday. Over 3,000 people have obtained certificates from over 70 fake universities, according to the report.

It should be done because it's not fair to other people who earned their diplomas after years of hard work and sleepless nights of studying in order to graduate. And those degree holder must be well compensated.

I quoted this statement from Saqib Mumtaz: The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has urged employers to ensure they are not hiring people with fake education certificates. So how this be done? So are the employers of the respective company has to go through each employees school to verify whether this person was really a graduate from that school and the certificate or diploma is not fake. So what happened with the old system that as employees before he will get a labour ID Card the school records or certificates need to be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs from his country of origin before that said document be authenticated by his embassy here in Qatar. I just wonder if this is a new system but this time its just getting tougher that a company where an individual works is the one responsible to contact the school where a certain employee came from in order to verify his diploma. In that way it gives the company much more time and money to do that.
