Female foreign nationals employed in Qatar are entitled by law to 50 days' paid maternity leave, provided they have worked for the company for a full year. The Labour Law states that up to 15 days of the leave can be taken before the birth, but at least 35 days must be taken after the birth before returning to work. Any extended time required can be taken as unpaid leave, or out of annual leave, but agreement should be reached with the employer
These are the legal requirements, but some companies may offer longer maternity leave options. A medical certificate from the woman's doctor stating the expected date of delivery must be supplied to the employer to validate the leave.

Thank you Rolita for bringing this out even not all working women can avail this maternity leave but atleast this information here will serve as a reminder to those who are at a situation to avail this. Being a full time mom now in Qatar, if going back to work will strike again in my mind I have the feeling of uncertainty whether if I apply again for work and the desired employer will not accept me just because mom's need to balance between work and family commitments. What can u say about it?

It depends on you Darling on how you handle to being a working mother and mom in the house.but working mother faces more challenges than her stay-at-home counterpart. You have multi-dimensional roles to play and has to work really hard to balance your roles effectively. As you meets challenges and fulfills your duties, you not only evolves as a person and creates a unique identity for yourself.you also sets an example for your children on how to conducts one's lead a life responsibly and purposefully.

Depends where do you work here in Qatar, if its government company it more i believe 50+ working days. Private may not allow this much leave on maternity.
